FOREST ENGINEERS Share your passion for engineering with students! Sign up as a Classroom Presenter for National Engineers Month!
The Oregon Forest Resources Institute is partnering with the Business Education Compact (BEC) to participate in NEM, an annual event that celebrates engineering by bringing engineer volunteer presenters into the classroom. To register, follow instructions below to logon to the NEM Volunteer System and request a classroom. The BEC provides ready-made presentations, an experiment library, and grade-level tips—all available on the system to support your participation. See the NEM 2009 Volunteer Guide for further instructions. STEP 1: Go to www.becpdx.org
STEP 2: Under “core services” Select National Engineers Month. In the “engineers” box, Select Engineer Login
Create a logon to the NEM Volunteer System: Enter your email address Select "I am a new customer" Select "Register or Log In" Fill out the "My Profile" screen and Save You are auto-logged into the NEM Volunteer System.
STEP 3: Select Request A Classroom—When you Request A Classroom, enter your preferences for Grade Level and Subject Taught to assist the BEC in making the best match for you. Request Classroom Match—In January you retrieve your match details from the system when they are ready. Log Self-Arranged Visit—If you already know the classroom you are going to, i.e. your child's, you log the activity into the system either before or after the visit instead of requesting a match.
